Day 4/Blanca

On the second day of working at the clinic, our team completed 11 surgeries.

One patient, Blanca, had about 100 moles covering her neck and parts of her face, which she said were uncomfortable and felt like pins and needles whenever they were touched.

If Blanca had chosen to go to a hospital in Managua, she said it would have taken three to four months to get an appointment, and even then it wouldn't be guaranteed.

"The cost of surgery is very expensive and not a lot of people have money, so it's hard to get into the system" Blanca said. "Even if you do, it's very slow."

She said she was incredibly happy when she found out that Med4Nicaragua could do the surgery.

Blanca has seven kids, one of which, Esteluina, was there to pick her up. She described her mom as "muy, muy bonita," very, very pretty.
